WHITEVILLE, N.C. -- The Southeastern Community College baseball team is headed to Oklahoma to compete in the National Junior College Division II World Series. School leaders, teachers and classmates wished the players well at a send off Tuesday morning in Whiteville.
The Rams are up against nine other teams for the title and the team's coach says his players are up to the challenge.
"These guys have really come together over the year, faced a lot of adversity and are truly the best team I've ever coached," said Scott Johnson.
The Rams' first game is Saturday at 1 p.m. The series runs through June 5.
