CHARLOTTE—With the help of the community, a local teen's efforts to help the homeless were a success.

For the past three years Piedmont High School senior Sarah Headley worked with Teens for Jeans. It is part of a nationwide drive to collect blue jeans of all sizes and colors to clothe those less fortunate. All of Headley's donations will be taken to Aeropostale, one of the main sponsors, at Concord Mills Mall.

Last year, nearly 625,000 pairs of jeans were collected across the country.
