CHARLOTTE—The same hotel that helped house dozens of homeless people in Charlotte on Christmas Day is wanting to extend their services.

Arlington Suites Hotel officials say they want to start a 30 day housing program. Hotel officials spent Saturday afternoon touring a homeless camp in north Charlotte trying to convince campers to temporarily move into the hotel.

The Arlington Suites Hotel initially opened its doors for people in need on Christmas day. Belinda Kendall is the hotel's Marketing Director and said their new homeless guests can stay at the hotel for up to 30 days.

She said at that end of that time they hope to have helped their guests find jobs and links to needed services.

“I think some times when you are in it you can't think straight and if you can have someone hold your hand that's what we'll do at Arlington,” said Kendall.
