RALEIGH -- A bomb threat caused officials to evacuate the state attorney general's office Thursday on Thursday afternoon.

Officials say the threatening call came in around 10 a.m. prompting authorities to empty the building, block and nearby streets.

The state's Department of Crime Control and Public Safety said police and a bomb-sniffing dog searched the building floor-by-floor. After the building was cleared, it was reopened shortly after 1:00 p.m.

State Capitol Police are currently handling the investigation.
