RALEIGH — The jury is seated for the trial of a young man charged with killing an Apex High School student in 2008 starts on Monday.
Ryan Hare faces first-degree murder charges in the death of Matthew Silliman. Last month hare pleaded not guilty. Other teens charged, Aadil Khan and Allegra Dahlquist, pleaded guilty to second degree murder and conspiracy charges last month.
Drew Shaw has not entered a plea deal, but all three have agreed to testify against Hare. An autopsy shows Silliman, 18, died of suffocation and his body was found in a sleeping bag. Prosecutors said Silliman was beaten, tied up, had a plastic bag on his head and had duct tape on his mouth.
