WILMINGTON -- Wilmington city planners met with community members Wednesday night to discuss the future zoning of Wrightsville Avenue.
They're trying to come up with plans for an in-depth study of the far eastern end of Wrightsville, stretching from Bradley Creek North to Landfall and Wrightsville Sound East to the intersection of Military Cutoff and Oleander Drive.
Organizers say they want zoning ordinances in place by the time the economy fully recovers.
"Once a plan gets adopted it would envision, should a developer come in with a project we can really take a look at it and see how it complies with the community plan and help build the communities vision into development projects," said Christine Hughes, a senior longterm planner.
The next workshop will be held on Saturday Oct. 16 at the Northeast Regional Library.
