WILMINGTON — The UNC Board of Governors is meeting again on Friday in Wilmington.

On Thursday Athletic Director Dick Baddour and Chancellor Holden Thorp updated the Board on the investigation into possible academic violations by Tar Heel football players. University officials said teams are interviewing everyone involved and that they will report their findings to a panel that includes Baddour and Thorp.

Officials will then pass along the findings to the NCAA which may penalize the University. Baddour said the University is nearing the end of its fact-finding phase, but did not give a time-line on when the 13 players restricted from playing in last week's game would learn their fates.

Also, officials said the NCAA is wrapping-up up an investigation into whether two UNC players had improper contact with agents. UNC system president Erskine Bowles spoke briefly at the meeting.

Bowles commended Thorp and Baddour on the job they have done handling the situation.
