OCRACOKE, N.C. — We now have photos of the yacht damaged in Saturday night's crash with the ferry Carteret.
DOT officials said it happened in the ferry channel in Ocracoke. They said the 35 ft. yacht crossed in front of the ferry's bow and the two collided. The eight-passengers and seven-person crew aboard the ferry were not injured. The ferry also had little damage. Two crew members and two dogs were aboard the yacht. Emergency crews treated them for minor injures.
The coast guard is continuing to investigate the incident.
