MATTHEWS, N.C. — Hundreds of people lined the streets of downtown Matthews for a parade on Saturday morning starting day two of the annual Matthews alive festival.

It is known as the Southeast's largest labor day parade. Parade goers who spoke to News 14 Carolina said they didn't want to miss out.

"It's her first parade, I just wanted to bring her out here, people are friendly, it's a really nice parade," said Matthews resident Courtney Wilson.

The Matthews Alive Festival continues through Sunday with lots of food vendors, local shopping, and live music. The festival attracts more than 150,000 people each year.
