CHARLOTTE -- A Sedgefield Middle School student was hit by a car while walking to her bus stop Thursday morning.

Police say the sixth-grader was hit at Sleepy Hollow Road and Whispering Pines Drive. The driver told police she was blinded by the sun and did not see the girl.

The student was taken to Carolinas Medical Center with minor injuries.

Police are still looking for the driver who hit a child Monday near Tuckaseegee Elementary School. That child was also not seriously hurt.

Anyone with information about that incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (704) 334-1600.
