CHAPEL HILL—More than 5,000 UNC football fans rushed Kenan Stadium to “Meet the Heels” on Saturday, despite the controversy surrounding the team.

On Thursday, the University's Chancellor, Athletic Director, and Head Football Coach addressed academic infractions surrounding a number of players. That is in addition to the probe conducted by the NCAA into whether some players have had improper contact with sports agents.

Behaviors many fans, but not all, have found a way to overlook at least for one day.

"They are still Tar Heels. We still love em'. We gonna support em," said Fan Jerry Thomas.

Another fan felt that the players should stick to the moral code, and said that any slip-up could follow them for the rest of their life.

“They need to be careful and be straight and honest with everything. They do one little silly mistake can last you a lifetime," said Fan Ann Ellis

Pending the outcome of the investigations, some players may not play this season because they could be ruled ineligible. Their first game is next Saturday against LSU in Atlanta.
