WAKE COUNTY, N.C. -- Troopers are investigating a deadly accident that killed a 20-year-old man after he ran his car into a house in Wake County. It happened just after 12 a.m. Friday on Tryon Road at Tryon Pines Drive.

Troopers say 20-year-old Maximillian Bratton was killed. A passenger in the car, 19-year-old Ethan Herring, was transported to WakeMed and is in critical condition.

Friends say Bratton was a respectful guy and always had a smile on his face.

"I'm just so sorry for everyone that knew him," said Jonathan Doss. "It's just such a loss."

Speed and wet roads were factors in the crash. No one in the house was injured.
