CHARLOTTE — Police said it was a rash of violence that was rather unusual.
Three, separate shootings that happened within a three-hour time span on Saturday night.
"It was a very busy night, unusually busy and I have no information at this time that would indicate they're related," said Capt. D.L. Skipper of the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department
The first happened at the Lake Point apartments off of Albemarle Road.
Police found Brooks Crist, 28, behind a building suffering from a gunshot wound. He was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
The second shooting happened at around 10:30 p.m. on Canterwood Drive in Northeast Charlotte. A man was shot three times in the groin area.
A short time later, Tawanna Glass, 38, was shot in the stomach at the Cameron at Hickory Grove Apartments on Keyway Boulevard, near East W.T. Harris Boulevard. Detectives believe that incident happened after a late night party.
"The way the police explained to her was like me and another car was going down the street shooting at each other and we happened to come in here and park. The bullet hit so hard it knocked my lights on," said Kennon Sweat.
Police are being tight lipped on suspect information. They have said a white van was seen in the area of the Canterwood Drive shooting. Witnesses spotted a white Chevy Corsica leaving the scene of the Keyway Boulevard incident.
