CHARLOTTE -- A 15-year-old driver was killed in a wreck Friday night in Stanly County.
Troopers say the boy was driving at about 80 mph on Polk Ford Road near Stanfield, when he ran off the road and into a tree. He was flown to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, where he later died.
His 18-year-old cousin was reportedly in the passenger seat. She was treated at the hospital and released.
