GREENSBORO -- Guilford County students, teachers and staff all came together to build this greensboro home. The school system partnered with Habitat for Humanity for the project.

Over the course of 20 weeks, close to 300 students and employees worked on the home.

Superintendent Mo Green says the build is part of Guilford County School's character development initiative. This is the first Habitat build for GCS but Green hopes there will be more.

"We were able to partner with Habitat for Humanity and I believe that they would say to us that we were a good partner, that we certainly did a good job building a house," he said. "So I hope that we'll have plenty more opportunities to do things like this and other things as well in this community."

The house will go to a Vietnamese family who moved to Greensboro seven years ago. The family has two daughters who are GCS students. This is the first house they will own since moving to the United States.
