HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. -- The 14 and under fastpitch softball world series is in full swing.
More than 60 teams from 23 different states, even one team from Canada, are in Huntersville taking part in the games.
Coaches and parents like Bobby Jones and Lisa Patterson say the series could cause their teams to play nearly a dozen games in one day. They say they'll use whatever they can to help their team win, even if that means relying on superstitions.
"Me hugging Casey to get good hits to our banana peals on the gate,” explains Jones.
Others take different approaches to root on their team.
“I make a fool of myself,” said Patterson. “I scream and yell, I do somersaults, cartwheels what ever gets them going.”
The tournament is expected to last through Sunday.
