CHARLOTTE – Charlotte's Bechtler Museum will open soon on the Wells Fargo Cultural Campus and feature art that Andreas Bechtler's family has collected over the past 70 years. The museum is now ready to be unveiled.
The collection includes pieces from art greats like Picasso, Warhol and Degas. There are also new artists the museum's president says makes the exhibit fun and lively for visitors.
“Each time they'll get something new from the experience,” Museum President John Boyer said.
Bechtler said the museum and the rest of the arts facilities will move the city up in cultural ranks. Most importantly, he said it's a good home for the art.
“It's wonderful,” he said. “They found a good place for all my babies here. It's great.”
The museum's official grand opening is Jan. 2. Cost of admission for an adult is $8.
