CHARLOTTE -- NASCAR driver Michael Waltrip was involved in a wreck Wednesday evening.

According to a Mooresville police report, Waltrip was making a u-turn on Perth Road just before eight p.m., when he turned into the path of a motorcycle. Police say they suspected Waltrip of being under the influence, so gave him a field sobriety test.

According to the report, Waltrip blew a 0.06, which is under the legal limit of 0.08, but police cited him for failure to yield.

The driver of the motorcycle, who told officers he'd had two beers earlier in the evening, was taken to the hospital.
