NEW HANOVER COUNTY, N.C. – Officials from the New Hanover Community Health Center said a malfunction in a diabetes testing machine may have exposed hundreds of patients to blood borne viruses, according to the Wilmington Star News.
Officials said the warnings are a precautionary measure, and they do not think any viruses were transmitted.
The warnings went to patients who used the machine between the beginning of the year through early June.
