GASTON COUNTY, N.C. Police say a teen was shot in the face Thursday night during a break-in in Gastonia. It happened just before midnight on Fourth Street.–

Investigators said three men broke into the home and taped up a 15-year-old and 16-year-old.

The men demanded money and then shot the 16-year-old in the face.

He was flown to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte and is in serious condition.

Authorities said two children between the ages of two and five witnessed every second of the event.

No arrests have been made. Police said the suspects covered their heads with shirts when they broke into the house.
