WHITSETT, N.C. – Executives at Lenovo’s U.S. Fulfillment Center in Whitsett, N.C., opened their doors to the public Saturday afternoon for a warehouse sale in which all of the company’s products were available.

“We wanted to move our inventories,” Lenovo Fulfillment Center General Manager Ken Grissom said. “We’ve got great products and we wanted to have an opportunity to move those products through something outside our normal channels.”

Hundreds came out to the sale to find some deals that might help their small businesses.

“We got some state-of-the-art laptops for very, very low prices: right under $300. So I don’t think you can beat that for a laptop these day and times,” Gawon Hyman, of Home Bodiez, Inc., said.

Grissom said he expects more than 500 people to take advantage of the great offers. And in spite of the economy, he thinks it will be great for the sales.

“Certainly the economy has been challenging for all companies, and we’re certainly in line with that,” he said. “But we are starting to see some exciting new orders and we are on the brink of seeing things turn.”

Hyman said he’s sure the great buys are going to make a big difference in his company’s bottom line.

“It’s going to help us last to the end of the year, hopefully next year and not having to buy any more laptops,” he said.

Dozens of people lined up outside the Fulfillment Center early Saturday morning to be the first to check out the products.
