RALEIGH -- North Carolina’s business leaders are looking to the federal government to provide some assistance during recent economic times.
Economist predicted at the annual forecast forum in Raleigh that a recovery would start by the middle of the year. Now, the Raleigh Chamber of Commerce is holding a federal issues forum to interact with their local U.S. House representatives.
The meeting will be especially important as members of Congress head back to Washington, D.C. to discuss the details of the economic stimulus package. Reps. Bob Etheridge, David Price and Brad Miller will all be on hand to share their priorities and give an overview of what’s happening.
Etheridge also happens to be the only North Carolina member of a House committee that has authority over part of the recovery package.
