RALEIGH – Family and friends said goodbye Monday to a Raleigh cab driver murdered last week.

Police say 59-year-old cab driver Michael Howard Palmer was shot and killed the night of Dec. 15 outside the Quail Ridge Apartments. A memorial service was held Monday at the Haywood Funeral Home on South Wilmington Street.

Meanwhile, four teenagers charged with Palmer’s murder are scheduled to appear before a judge on Monday.

Eugene Dumas, 19, Xavia Barnes, 17, Alexander Gonzales, 19, and Jayshon Norment, 19, have all been detained. Police arrested Norment on Friday night. The other three were already in jail on unrelated charges.

An investigation is still ongoing.

Palmer worked as a cab driver for AAA Cabs.
