The investigation is still ongoing, but Raleigh police said in a news release that information leading to these arrests happened after reports from a checkpoint conducted on Quail Ridge Road in North Raleigh Thursday night.
Police said the cab driver, 59-year-old Michael Howard Palmer, was on the job when he was shot to death right after he dropped off a customer he picked up at a bus stop.
Palmer’s family had requested help in solving the case.
“My father was a very hard-working man,” Vonise Palmer, the victim’s daughter, said. “He was a caring man. He liked to help people.”
