Wells Fargo officials meet in Charlotte
CHARLOTTE -- Top executives with Wells Fargo are in Charlotte on Tuesday to meet with Wachovia officials and employees.

In private meetings over the next two days, Wells Fargo will discuss the merger details and the impact on jobs. Wells Fargo CEO John Stumpf was supposed to be in the city on Monday, but was called to Washington, D.C. by Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson and other bankers to discuss the administration’s plans for the banking industry.

While in Charlotte, Stumpf will also meet with city and county leaders. Wednesday, Wachovia employees and Wells Fargo officials will gather for a rally at the Atrium in uptown.

Some analysts say the merger might not be finalized until sometime next year.
