CHARLOTTE -- Wachovia, Citigroup and Wells Fargo will keep their battle out of the courtroom for now.
The three financial institutions, along with the Federal Reserve, came to an agreement on Monday to suspend all formal litigation for the next two days. Earlier in the day, Citibank had filed a $60 billion lawsuit against Wachovia and Wells Fargo for breech of contract.
The temporary agreement also calls for the three banks to cooperate in good faith in other legal matters to preserve the statue quo during the temporary standstill.
