RALEIGH -- The Carolina Hurricanes unveiled their
alternate third jersey design at a news conference Wednesday.
Three of the team’s top players, center Eric Staal, defenseman Tim Gleason and goaltender Cam Ward modeled the predominantly black sweater adorned with the team’s secondary logo, a hockey stick with a waving hurricane warning flag, inside a white triangle, which represents the Research Triangle of North Carolina.
The new uniforms will make their debut when Stanley Cup champion Detroit comes to town Oct. 13, and they will be worn for a total of 15 home games.
