CARY – Police are still looking for a woman who hasn't been seen since she left to jog around the Lochmere Lake area Saturday morning.

At 8 a.m. Sunday, friends, neighbors and authorities gathered to make a plan to find 34-year-old Nancy Cooper.

"She doesn't just not show up," neighbor Diana Duncan said. "There's no way she would go two hours without knowing where her kids are and how they are."

Cooper is 5 foot 9 inches, 120 pounds and was last seen wearing black running shorts and a T-shirt.

Teams broke out to search the area, located off Kildaire Farm Road in South Cary, which is covered in dozens of trails the avid jogger could have taken.

"God forbid anyone would want to do anything to her," Clea Morwick, Cooper's friend, said. "I just know that we need to get out and get the word out and go find her, because that's our only option."

Fliers with Cooper's photo and information are posted all over the jogging trails. Family, friends and neighbors are hoping someone, somewhere, knows something about Nancy Cooper's whereabouts.

"We're still investigating a lot of avenues," Capt. Michael Williams, of the Cary Police Department, said. "We've had a lot of people call in so far and we're following up on those leads, so if anyone has any information, give us a call."

Family and friends said they don't know anyone who would want to hurt the loving mother of two. But they said she has been living with Crohn's disease and just recently she felt ill. They fear the worse, but they're not giving up hope.

"Nancy is the most genuine kind person I've ever known," Morwick said. "She's very, very friendly."
