CHARLOTTE -- Carolina Panthers wide receiver Dwayne Jarrett is scheduled to be in court Friday on drunken driving charges.

Jarrett was arrested last month in Mint Hill and charged with driving while impaired. Police say he ran a red light at the intersection of Lawyers Road and Highway 51.

Police say when they pulled him over, the officer smelled alcohol in his vehicle and he failed a field sobriety test.
