RALEIGH -- We now know the name of the young mother found dead this morning behind a convenience store across from the State Farmer’s Market. Police identified her as 22-year-old Jennifer “Jenna” Kathleen Nielsen.

Police are still investigating, trying to determine exactly what happened to Nielsen.

Around 5 a.m. police were called to the AmeriKing Food Mart convenience store, just across from the State Farmer's Market, to investigate a suspicious vehicle. That's when they found Nielsen's body behind the business.

Pictures of the crime scene this morning showed she was found without any clothes on from the waist down. Investigators spent most of the day at the crime scene, searching for evidence, and even bringing in special K-9 units.

Nielsen was delivering papers for USA Today.

She has a husband, Tim, and two young sons; 3-year old Schyler and 11-month old Kaiden. She was also eight months pregnant, expecting her third son, Ethen, on July 8.

The gruesome crime scene has left many in the area wondering how this happened.

“Why,” wonders Rashid Salahat, the store’s owner. “Why would you do this? Why would you kill this pregnant woman or rape her or rob her or do anything like this?”

The convenience store did have surveillance cameras. Salahat turned those tapes over to investigators, hoping it will provide some leads in the case.
