AMBER Alert issued for Craven Co. girl

FORT BARNWELL, N.C. -- State law enforcement officials issued an Amber Alert on Thursday for a 17-month-old girl who officials said was taken by her father after her mother was shot and killed.

Police searched for Junni Angel Rios, whose mother was shot and killed around 3 p.m. They believed she was with Jorge Angel Hernandez, 22, whom police described as a person of interest in the shooting death.

Authorities located Hernandez's Chevrolet Tahoe in Beaufort County, and law enforcement officers were searching the area for Hernandez and his daughter, officials said.

Hernandez is 22 years-old, 5'3" tall with black hair, brown eyes.

Hernandez is from Grimesland in Pitt County, according to a news release from the state Department of Crime Control and Public Safety.
