MOORESVILLE, N.C. -- Misty Witherspoon, the Mooresville woman accused of killing her husband in his sleep, posted $500,000 bail Friday night.

Witherspoon’s husband, Quinn, was fatally shot in September. He was a Concord police officer.

Misty Witherspoon initially told authorities that her husband’s gun went off when she accidentally dropped it. Investigators said she changed that story after repeated questioning.
