RALEIGH – Three Broughton High School students made it official Wednesday, signing letters of intent to play college football.

Running back Chris Mangus is heading to Virginia Tech in the fall, cornerback Jabari Crenshaw will move to the western part of the state to join the Bulldogs at Wingate University, and linebacker Drew Davis is staying a little closer to home, committing to N.C. State.

The students say they're excited about the opportunity to take their game to a new level.

“I couldn't sleep a lot last night just thinking about what a big step this would be for my life, signing this morning," Davis said.

“Just spending time there and just the school in general, I just loved everything about it," said Mangus.

“It's a good feeling knowing the journey will continue and I'm going to the next level. The next four years of my life is going to be devoted to football," Crenshaw said.

The Broughton Capitals were 5-6 last year.
