Maggette: Michael Jordan will turn Bobcats around
CHARLOTTE -- Forward Corey Maggette says that while the Bobcats have plenty of questions to answer moving forward, owner Michael Jordan's commitment to winning is not among them.
Jordan has endured plenty of criticism after Charlotte finished the season with the worst record in NBA history (7-59).
Despite that, Maggette says players enjoy playing for Jordan and doesn't believe free agents will shy away from signing with Charlotte because "he's a winner, and will be a winner" again.
Charlotte's elder statesman, Maggette believes Jordan is ready to spend money to bring in free agents. The Bobcats expect to be more than $20 million under the salary cap and are guaranteed no lower than the fourth pick in this year's draft.
Maggette says he's convinced Jordan "is going to make this organization better."
