CHARLOTTE -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools will hold a block party Monday night to celebrate winning the 2011 Broad Prize for education. It runs from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Levine Avenue of the Arts in uptown Charlotte.
The party will feature food, live entertainment and free admission to area museums.
The prize is one of the most prestigious in education. CMS was recognized for its progress in closing the low-income and minority achievement gap.
