Obama to visit UNC-Chapel Hill Tuesday
President Barack Obama will visit North Carolina Tuesday.
As part of a three-state swing, he will visit UNC-Chapel Hill, where he will focus on student loans.
The interest rate for federally-subsidized Stafford loans is set to double in July unless new legislation is introduced.
Obama will also tape a special feature while on campus for NBC's “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.”
State unemployment rate drops slightly
North Carolina's unemployment rate dropped to 9.7 percent for March. That's down two-tenths of a percent from the previous month.
New numbers out today from the state Commerce Department show this is the third straight month of falling unemployment.
But North Carolina's unemployment rate is still much higher than the national average of 8.2 percent.
Job market improving for college grads
Things are looking up for soon-to-be college graduates entering the workforce.
A new report from the national association of colleges and employers shows there will be more jobs and better salary available to entry level candidates this year as opposed to last year.
For this year's graduating class, engineering is the most popular major.
The report also states that field offers the best salary for entry level candidates.
