CHARLOTTE -- The Associated Press is reporting that Robert Pittenger and Jim Pendegraph will compete in a runoff for the Republican nomination in North Carolina's 9th Congressional District.

With 96 percent of precincts reporting, Pittenger received 32 percent of the vote to Pendergraph's 25 percent.
