RALEIGH (AP) -- The leading candidates in the Democratic primary for North Carolina governor are getting one more chance to talk to voters on television before the early-voting period begins Thursday.

Bob Etheridge, Walter Dalton and Bill Faison planned to participate in their third televised debate in as many nights on Wednesday at the WNCN studios in Raleigh.

The candidates have been attempting to differentiate themselves in the first two TV debates this week as well as saying how they're different from Republicans who have been running the Legislature since last year.

Three other Democratic candidates aren't participating in the debates.

The May 8 primary winner is likely to take on Republican and former Charlotte mayor Pat McCrory in the general election. Democratic Gov. Beverly Perdue isn't running for re-election.
