CONCORD -- A Concord Church is collecting donations for victims of Hurricane Sandy. Mount Hermon Lutheran Church is asking for your help getting immediate needs. Non-perishable food, hygiene items, tarps, school supplies and blankets for victims still without power to stay warm.
The church is partnering with the Presbytery of Charlotte Disaster Response Team to help deliver the items. They say they expect the first shipment of goods to go out to areas most in need next week.
"We have more requests than we can fill. As soon as we get a truck loaded...that truck will go and we start loading a second truck. And then when that second truck goes we will start loading a third truck," said Lisa McKinnon, Coordinator of Community Building at Mt. Hermon Lutheran Church.
The church is also asking that you consider donating food and supplies for pets as well.
Donations can be dropped off at Mt. Hermon Lutheran Church, 3600 Hwy 601 S Concord, N.C. 28025. For pick-up of donations or to arrange large scale corporate donations, please contact the Presbytery of Charlotte Disaster Response Team at (704) 892-1580 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Monetary donations can be made online at www.isohimpact.org or by sending directly to the ISOH/IMPACT offices at 25182 W. River Rd., Perrysburg, OH 43551.
