NEW YORK—The National Football League's newest stadium was a highlight during the second day of the Charlotte Chamber's inter city trip to New York City.
Wednesday, the delegation of more than 100 people toured Met Life Stadium, home to both the New York Giants and New York Jets. The group also heard from Panthers owner Jerry Richardson who introduced owner of the Giants John Mara.
Since Met Life stadium is the site of the 2014 Super Bowl, there is speculation the group is fact finding or lobbying for a possible Super Bowl bid in Charlotte. However Chamber president Bob Morgan said that's not the case.
"The Super Bowl is on people's minds, but it's common on these trips for us to see the latest and greatest in facilities, often professional sports facilities, this is the newest stadium," said Morgan.
The inter city visit wraps up Thursday, when the group will hear from NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.
