CHARLOTTE – The Charlotte Bobcats have been putting in some serious time as they get ready for the regular season.
The past two days have included nearly four hours of practice a day. With a 1-2 preseason record, they know there is more work to do as they head to Oklahoma City on Tuesday night.
“The positives would be the fact that we made surges with our defense in the one game we won. And in the other two, we had tremendous defensive quarters and we just need to extend it,” said Head Coach Mike Dunlap. “As far as I'm concerned, everything on the negative side only has to to with me and that means getting a system in. They've been great.”
Guard Matt Carroll said one of the factors of last year's struggles was the lockout and lack of practice time.
“This year, we're taking advantage of the extra time we have with the regular schedule,” he said. “Coach is really stressing the importance of putting in the time – the hours – to get where we want to get.
The Bobcats open the regular season at home against Indiana on Nov. 2.
