CHARLOTTE — A major milestone occurred on Saturday for UNC-Charlotte.
Around 3,500 students turned their tassels in the morning; including the school's 100,000th graduate, Fabian Elliott. Past presidents and a member of the first graduating class were on hand to celebrate.
Elliott said it was an unexpected honor.
"As far as what lead up to this point, a lot of hard work and dedication, you have great faculty and staff supporting us the whole way. Great friends and wonderful memories as we close this chapter," said Elliott.
Graduation ceremonies were also held Saturday at Central Piedmont Community College, Wingate University, and Pfeiffer University.
