CARY, N.C. — Cary police made an arrest in a Saturday night hit-and-run accident involving a bicyclist.

Police said they charged Kristen Snipes, 26, of Morrisville with felony hit-and-run. The charges come after police said Snipes hit Gustavo Angalo, 26, on Saturday just before 10:00 p.m. on Chapel Hill Road between Harrison Avenue and North Academy Street.

Police said Angalo was riding his bike on the side of the road when he was hit from behind by a dark sedan driven by Snipes. Then, police said she sped off. Angalo was taken to Wake Med where he's now in fair condition. Cary police said authorities in South Carolina located Snipes.

Officials add she faces a maximum of two years in prison for the accident.
