RALEIGH—The "miracle baby" is out of UNC children's hospital after recovering from surgery to remove a metal rod lodged in his head
17-month-old Jessiah Jackson went home on Wednesday after spending more than a week in Chapel Hill. Jackson was playing outside of his family's Leland home on July 17 when he fell off a chair and onto a rod attached to a pressure washer. A day later, nuerosurgeons removed an “L” shaped screw in his skul and they expect Jackson to make a full recovery.
Good news for his grandfather, who already has plans for his miracle baby.
“Just when you get him home you just want to hold him and hug him and never let him go,” said Buy him a PowerWheel,” said Joesph Jones.
Leading up to his release, doctor's monitored his vitals, but said Jackson shows no long-term damage.
