CHAPEL HILL – Officials with the FAA will be in Chapel Hill Tuesday to investigate a fatal airplane crash. The Horace Williams Airport was closed after the crash that killed one person and injured two others Monday afternoon.

UNC officials say the plane was trying to land when it crashed and struck a tree. Sources say one person on board the plane is the brother of a man killed in the Uganda explosions over the weekend.

They say Kyle Henn was flying from Delaware to be closer to his family after his brother's death. He is in fair condition at UNC Hospital.

Authorities have not yet released the identity of the person who died in the crash or the person who is listed in critical condition.

FAA officials say the plane was registered to Thomas Pitts, of Wilmington, Delaware, but there's no word on whether Pitts was on board.

Kyle Henn's brother, 24-year-old Nate Henn, was a worker for California-based aid group Invisible Children and one of more than 60 people killed in Uganda as they watched Sunday's World Cup final. The group lists Nate Henn as a native of Raleigh, but he most recently lived in Delaware.
