CARY, N.C. – Cary police are investigating after an Amtrack train hit and killed a man. Officials say it happened just after 7:00 Saturday morning about three miles north of Cary.

They say Amtrack train 73 was headed to Charlotte from Raleigh with 33 passengers onboard. No one else was injured, but the train was delayed for about two hours.

Police haven’t released the name of the victim or any details about why he was on the tracks.
