CHAPEL HILL – A memorial service for a fraternity president at UNC-Chapel Hill is set for Wednesday.

Courtland Smith died Sunday morning outside of Greensboro. The Archdale Police Department reports one of its officers shot Smith during a confrontation along Interstate 85 in Randolph County.

The memorial service is Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Chapel of the Cross on Franklin Street. A reception will follow at the Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity house, where Smith was president.
