RAEFORD, N.C. -- Authorities in Hoke County are searching for a 17-year-old girl who they say kidnapped a baby she was supposed to sit for over the weekend.

Detectives say 17-year old Renesha Griner picked up 9-month-old Saniya Purcell on Friday night to baby-sit her for the weekend.

Instead, they say she boarded a bus to Georgia with the baby Saturday morning.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Purcell or Griner is asked to call police.
