Schools close, delay opening due to snow
The roads are snow-covered and many school systems decided they were to dangerous to have students come in.
The winter weather has forced many school systems across the state to close or delay opening Monday. The following is a list of confirmed closings and delays.

Anson County Schools will be on a two-hour delay. Cabarrus County, Charlotte-Mecklenburg, Cleveland County, Gaston County, Kannapolis City, Mecklenburg area Catholic, Rowan-Salisbury, Stanly County and Union County Schools are all closed.
Triangle/Sandhills Area
Durham, Cumberland, Moore and Robeson County schools are on a two-hour delay. All Chatham, Granville and Wake County schools will be closed.
Triad Area
Guilford, Winston-Salem/Forsyth, Alamance-Burlington, Davidson, Surry, Stokes, Yadkin and Randolph County schools all are closed. Elkin City Schools are also closed.
Coastal Area
New Hanover, Brunswick and Columbus County schools are operating on a two-hour delay for all students and staff.
