HIGH POINT--Stanley Furniture is using a Greensboro-based company to handle the $5 million renovation project for its new headquarters.

Samet Corporation will up-fit the top two floors of a North Hamilton Street building, in High Point.

The project is in the demolition phase and developers say they'll use 50-100 contractors over the next eight months.

"It's pretty disheartening when they win projects and bring other contractors from other states to come and do work, when we can keep the work local and bring that money right back into our local economy. So they're staying at our hotels and spending money in our restaurants," said J.J. Patterson of Samet Corporation

The space is expected to be ready by April for the Spring Future Market.

Once completed, Stanley Furniture will leave its current headquarters location in Virginia.
